Here are a few more recipes that the other Senior Team classes may have tried.  I can personally vouch for the success of the Silverbeet Fritters - our family love them!

Great 8 had the fantastic opportunity to work with our super Plant-To-Plate volunteers on 9.3.16.

We had another wonderful day on 20.10.15 and here are some more amazing recipes.  Our Lunchbox Day menu went down a treat - DO TRY THESE AT HOME!! :)

CHARLOTTE ‘S  BAKED  POTATO

1 medium potato per child
Pkt bacon bites
HP sauce or Tomato sauce
Grated cheese

1  Cook potato in microwave or boil Slice in half carefully
2  When cool scoop out the potato flesh and place in a bowl Save the skin
3  After frying the bacon bites add them to the cooked potato flesh
4  Add drops of HP sauce to mixture. Stir.
5  Put the mixture back into the potato skin
6  Sprinkle grated cheese on top of mixture.
7  Place on an oven tray and grill in oven till cheese is browned.


CORN AND COURGETTE FRITTERS


1 cup flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
2 teaspoons sugar
1 egg
Milk to make batter
Can Cream corn
Grated courgettes
Cooking oil

1 Place egg, corn, sugar, salt and flour and Baking powder in a bowl. and mix well

2 Heat oil in electric frypan

3 Place spoonfuls of mixture in oil and cook until light brown,turn and cook second side

4 Drain on paper towel and keep fritters warm in oven till serving


(Increase recipe to suit the numbers)


   PITA PIZZAS
8 Pita rounds
Tomato pizza paste
Veg and fruit and herbs (like avocados,spring onions,coriander,parsley,basil,pineapple,peppers,celery,tomato)
1 cup grated cheese
Salt and pepper
(Even meat can be added like luncheon ,ham ,salami,tuna etc)

1.    Toast the pita breads on one side by placing them under a hot grill for about 2 minutes.
2.  Turn them over and cover the base with the tomato paste
3.  Top with desired fillings
4.   Top with cheese
5.  Grill in a hot oven for 5 mins until the cheese has melted and is golden brown
6.  Serve hot or cold
